1. How can VSA help me?

Whether you are an aspiring high school athlete, weekend warrior, college athlete, or professional athlete there are several ways in which a VSA analysis or VSA Personalized Recruiting Web Site can help you.

a) Video analysis can help point out sport specific fundamental areas of strength and weakness in your skill performance.
b) VSA’s expert team of coaches can help provide you with specific feedback for skill improvement.
c) Video analysis can help train your muscle memory so you can improve skill performance faster.
d) A VSA personalized Recruiting Web Site gives an athlete a medium to promote him/herself. Athletes can post a personal bio, playing schedule, statistics, and game video for college coaches to view. Athletes no longer need to mail out tapes and DVDs.
e) A VSA personalized Scouting Web Site gives college athletes aspiring to play professional sports a medium to promote him/herself to scouts, agents, international coaches, and teams. Athletes can post a personal bios, playing schedules, statistics, and game video for viewing on a password protected website. Athletes and agents no longer have to incur the expense of mailing out videos and DVDs.

2.  What are my options for video analysis?

Depending on where you live VSA offers the following options:

a) If you live close to VSA headquarters, we will gladly videotape you.
b) Your parent or coach can videotape you and mail the tape to VSA.

d) You can purchase a VSA webpage and upload your video to the site for VSA analysis.

3. What do I need to video tape myself?

Equipment: Video camera that records on mini DV tapes or hard drive.

Depending on the sport there are certain camera angles and distances that you need to use.

For the majority of sports (baseball/softball hitting, golf swing, soccer, and basketball shot) you will want to record yourself from a sideview, with the camera roughly 6-8 feet away from you. Make sure your body is in the middle of the screen. A front view may also be required for sports such as baseball/softball pitching, basketball shooting and soccer shooting. A back camera angle will also be needed for baseball/softball pitching, golf swing, soccer. We recommend you contact us at VSA before filming yourself or another athlete.
